Chairman
Wayne and Deretta have served on the LTLSF board as Chairman for seven years. Being raised in Fort Lauderdale and Miami, they have a passion for strengthening marriages and families, starting with their local communities. Wayne was the owner of Design Flooring DIST. for 33 years, with offices in South FL & Orlando. He was a founding member of The National Wood Flooring Assoc., serving on the Board for 14 years and as Chairman for two years. Wayne also chaired First Care Women's Clinic for 19 years, co-chaired BEACHFEST with Luis Palau, and is Past Chairman of Lifework Leadership. He was a founding member of the Board of the National Christian Foundation of South Florida, and he also currently serves on the Boca Raton Community Church Board. Together, they chaired parenting councils at Westminster Academy and founded the Parent Council at Palm Beach Atlantic University. Mr. Cotton is a Trustee at Palm Beach Atlantic University.
They have three married children and 5 beautiful grandchildren. They currently reside in Palm Beach County.
Ron and Lynn Ellen have been married since 2001 and have one daughter, Jadeyn. They love to spend time with the amazing extended families that they are blessed with. Ron and Lynn Ellen serve joyfully at their church and as mentors for Relate Well Live Well to help guide married couples through the journey of marriage.
Ron graduated from the University of North Florida where he received a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. He is an experienced Business Executive with an impressive entrepreneurial track record of developing businesses within a variety of market sectors such as architectural hardware, medical products, real estate, and estate planning.
In 2017, Ron joined First Impressions International, a manufacturing company of architectural door hardware founded in 1999 and currently serves as its president. Ron went on to establish Organic Ide LLC in 2020 with a desire to help create safe environments for people and developed an innovative Programable Automated Disinfection System that utilizes a natural disinfectant that kills pathogens such as Covid-19. Ron has served as a Business Coach for Lifework Leadership of South Florida mentoring individual son topics such as Business Leadership Development. It has been his privilege to mentor married couples through the Relate Well Live Well organization for several years with his wife Lynn Ellen. Ron is very invested in his church where he has served as Board Secretary and currently serves as an Elder.
Lynn Ellen is a graduate of Ole Miss and received a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education. She went on to further her education by receiving a master’s degree in Varying Exceptionalities from Florida Atlantic University. Lynn Ellen was a classroom teacher for ten years and then had the blessing of staying home and homeschooling her daughter Jadeyn through Middle School. Lynn Ellen loves being Jadeyn’s Mom. For seven years, she tutored for the homeschooling program known as Classical Conversation, which provides a classical approach to Christian homeschool education. Today, Lynn Ellen enjoys working as a reading specialist in Fort Lauderdale two days a week. She has loved serving as a board member for Relate Well Live Well to experience the blessing of helping married couples in their community strengthen their marriages. Lynn Ellen also finds joy in being a Deaconess at her family’s church, Calvary Chapel Boca Raton.
Margaret and Scott Whiddon share four beautiful daughters, Lindsey, Stephanie, Caroline, and Alexandra. Margaret and Scott currently serve as board members for Relate Well Live Well South Florida to fulfill their personal commitment to nurturing family relationships.
Margaret was born and raised in the greater Detroit, Michigan area. Her father was the lead Minister at Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church in Pontiac and her mother served as both teacher and principal at Christian schools in their district. Margaret was a graduate of Grace
College in Winona Lake, Indiana, and soon relocated to Fort Lauderdale in 1980 to pursue
a career in Business Administration. She managed office systems at local service centers as well as Le Club International. Margaret has held leadership positions for numerous organizations including the Junior League, Women’s Bible Study Fellowship (BSF), 4 KIDS, and Firewall Ministries, a local after-school mentoring program. She has also served in chair positions at Charity Guild of Fort Lauderdale and First Priority South Florida. Margaret is active in her local church, First Baptist of Ft. Lauderdale, where she serves as a facilitator in Women’s Bible Study. She enjoys spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters Olivia and Elle, as well as traveling, reading, and boating.
Scott is a third-generation south Floridian, born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He is a graduate of
American University in Washington, DC, where he served part-time as a Congressional Aide.
Upon returning to Fort Lauderdale, Scott joined the family business, Causeway Lumber
Company, founded by his grandfather in 1939. Scott followed in his father’s footsteps assuming the position of president in 1989. Scott has held leadership roles in the Rotary Club of Fort Lauderdale, Broward Workshop and the Construction Association of South Florida. He is a past Chapter Chair (Florida) of YPO International and currently is a member of the Hundred Club of Broward County. Scott is also an active member of First Baptist Church of Ft. Lauderdale and is grateful to be able to participate and give back to the community through a variety of local outreach ministries including Christian Business Men’s Connection (CBMC), Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Bible Study Fellowship (BSF).
Scot and Danielle share a passion for giving back to their local communities and upholding the values of marriage and family. They pride themselves on being members of the Relate Well Live Well Organization because it gives them the opportunity to offer relationship guidance and support to married couples. Scot and Danielle have shared their past marital issues to guide couples in achieving a solid foundation, to gain the reward of a stronger marriage.
Danielle worked for several Wall Street firms and in addition she also spent her time developing a non-profit theatre company in New York City. Later, she went on to be the Executive Director of a Dallas non-profit whose purpose was to teach students in lower-income school districts about the ins and outs of operating a small business. Danielle finds purpose in her family and homeschools her four boys. She graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Arts before exploring cities across the globe.
Scot is the CEO of Credito Real USA, a finance company offering support for individuals who have below-average credit and struggle obtaining financing support for automobiles, wheelchair accessible vans, and landscaping equipment. He also served on the board of National Auto Finance. He finds purpose in acting as a thought leader for this team and strives to make his company and people better every day. Scot graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and Business Management.
Susan and Jim Yezbick have been involved in Relate Well Live Well since 2013 and have been married almost 30 years. They have one daughter, Natalie, and Jim has a son and daughter from a previous marriage. Now retired, Dr. Jim Yezbick served Floridians as a physician for 50 years. Most recently, he practiced occupational medicine, providing care to city employees and private sector workers across Broward County and, at one time, serving as the police surgeon for the City of Lauderhill. Dr. Yezbick has provided medical care on mission trips to Brazil, Haiti, Mexico, and the Bahamas. He interned at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital in Michigan. A lover of languages, he speaks fluent Spanish and German and is conversational in French, Arabic, and Italian, and looks forward to soon becoming an American Contract Bridge League Life Master. Dr. Yezbick is a graduate of Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, now A.T. Still University, the University of Detroit Mercy, and Sacred Heart Major Seminary's high school.
Susan Yezbick has lived in the Fort Lauderdale area for 35 years. She owned a professional fundraising company benefiting South Florida schools for two decades, at one point raising funds for 35 schools annually. An avid tennis player, she was the owner of outfitter LaSportif on Las Olas Boulevard and now enjoys playing competitively in multiple Broward County leagues. For more than 40 years, she has been a member of the Junior League of Fort Lauderdale, holding numerous board positions both as an active and sustaining member. She also taught students the Relate Well Live Well Real Essentials curriculum at Fort Lauderdale High School. Susan raised funds for the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art through Beaux Arts and served as a deacon, session member, and elder for the First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale. After beginning her college career at Eastern Illinois University, she graduated from Florida State University, where she was an executive board member of Sigma Kappa.
Candace and Romney have been married for 44 years and have two sons, Dwight and Romney C. Jr. (Cam), and three grandchildren whom they love to spend time with. Candace and Romney both served as co-chairs on the Fort Lauderdale Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast Committee, which meets annually to gather the community to pray for our city and to hear speakers and testimonies of encouraging words of faith. They also serve as devoted board members for Relate Well Live Well South Florida, an organization that gives married couples the tools to solidify and empower their marriages.
After graduating from Wesleyan College with a Bachelor of Music in music education, Candace has enjoyed being a piano and guitar teacher for more than 40 years. With her strong background in music, she is a musical influence for the community at her church where she serves in varied ministries and in Bible Study Fellowship, as the pianist and small group leader. She is a board member of Strikeforce 421, a women's giving circle committed to raising funds for non-profit ministries in our South Florida Community. Candace is passionate about Kingdom work and enjoys using her time and musical background to encourage others on their spiritual journey.
Romney is the managing partner at Rogers, Morris & Ziegler LLP, which is the firm his grandfather founded in 1925. He is an AV-rated attorney whose practice consists of business transactions, real estate, estate planning, probate and trust administration, and litigation in all those areas. Romney is thrilled to have his son Cam, a 4th generation lawyer, as a partner at his grandfather’s firm, where he also emphasizes the firm’s values of giving back to the community. Aside from practicing law, Romney served as a Vice Mayor and City Commissioner for the City of Fort Lauderdale for nine years. During that time, he was awarded Downtowner of the Year by the Downtown Council of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber, where he had previously served as its chairman. He is a Hall of Fame inductee of the Broward Education Foundation. Romney is a member of the Broward County Bar Association and a Board Member of Habitat of Broward. Previously, he was President of the Stranahan House, Inc., a board member for Sheridan House Ministries, and acted as Secretary and Trustee for Fort Lauderdale Police and Fire Pension Fund. He was also the City Attorney for the City of Oakland Park, and a Trustee and Deacon Chair of the First Baptist Church of Fort Lauderdale. He is a newly elected member of the Orange Bowl Committee. Romney graduated from Rutgers University with an A.B. in Business Administration and went on to earn a J.D. degree at the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University.
Vice Chairman
Wadid and Christina have been married for 8 years and share three beautiful daughters. Remarkably, in 2016 Wadid and Christina made the decision to adopt three little girls at the ages of 4, 5, and 8. Both Wadid and Christina take pride in giving back to their community with the guidance of God and enjoy mentoring couples from Relate Well Live Well South Florida.
Christina was born in New Iberia, Louisiana. After graduating, she worked in the Oil and Gas industry as an Office Administrator. Christina moved to Florida in 2008 and met her husband Wadid in 2012. Prior to meeting Wadid, Christina was previously married for 18 years and has two children. Christina was confident that Wadid was brought into her life for a reason, and she enjoys building a life together and helping those in need. Christina has thoroughly enjoyed being an active member of Relate Well Live Well, where she can provide married couples with wisdom and support.
Wadid Daoud was born in Cairo, Egypt where he spent his childhood years. As a teenager, and into his twenties, Wadid was an avid traveler and journeyed to several continents and lived in Ghana, Iran, Mexico and the United Kingdom. He then finally settled in Florida in 1994 and after gaining valuable experience working in corporate America, Wadid left his international post and made the decision to embark on an entrepreneurial endeavor. In 1995, Wadid started American Supply, and it has grown exponentially over the past 27 years. It is the true American dream, and the success has allowed the Wadid family to donate over 5 million dollars to underdeveloped countries by developing and funding many projects that focus on: education, housing, nutrition, and self-sustaining businesses. Wadid has also participated in a variety of other ventures such as: dabbling in real estate development and rentals, a skin care company, a chemical business, a welding wholesaler, and a healthcare business. Wadid has served on many boards such as: 4KIDS, Relate Well Live Well, and most recently for Buck Knob Island community, a North Carolina development. Most importantly, Wadid has enjoyed the biggest blessing, which is his daughters and wife Christina, as well as the ability to give back to his community in need.
Bernhard Langer is a two-time Masters champion and was one of the world's leading golfers throughout the 1980's and 1990's. In 1986, he became the sport's first official number one ranked player following the creation of the OWGR. Langer is one of five golfers who have won professional golf events on all six continents where golf is played. He has victories on all the premiere tours, with 42 wins on the European Tour, three on the PGA Tour, and numerous international victories; including wins on the Japan Golf Tour, Asian Tour, Australasian Tour, and the Tour de las Americas. Langer has established himself as one of the most successful players on PGA Tour Champions and has won a record 11 senior major championships.
Vikki and Bernhard are integral members of our board at Relate Well Live Well. They have been serving on the board for 5 years. Bernhard and Vikki are extremely passionate about young marriages and helping them to thrive in a holy and God-centered way.
Mary Jean and Chip Lafferty have been active members of the Rio Vista Community Church for more than 30 years. They devote their time to hosting senior luncheons, serving in the nursery, leading bible studies, and mentoring young married couples. They celebrated 35 years of marriage with their three sons: Bob, Steel, and Daniel. As members of the board of directors of Relate Well Live Well, their goal is to give married couples and families the tools and education to have successful and fulfilling relationships.
Mary Jean graduated from the University of Georgia with a major in journalism and a minor in business. She is an active and dedicated member of her community and finds pride in being a wife and a mother. She served as a Board member as well as Chairman of the Board of Bethany Christian School. She has also been very involved with the Junior League of Fort Lauderdale, The Charity Guild of Ft Lauderdale, and The Children’s Opportunity Group, Inc., where she helped coordinate fundraising projects and auctions. Mary Jean is currently an ambassador for Strike Force 421, an organization of devoted women who raise funds for those in need.
Chip has more than 37 years of experience in the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning industry. He began his career as a draftsman and worked his way up to executive vice president and CEO. As a registered professional engineer, he had the privilege of working alongside his father at Hill York until his retirement in January of 2020. Now, Chip mentors his son on developing a technology company HYTECH247 that offers digital, predictive, and proactive HVAC monitoring solutions. He is also a member of numerous professional and industry organizations, including ASHRAE Gold Coast, Nova Southeastern University, Chairman Athletic Counsel, Construction Association of South Florida, Broward County Board of Rules and Appeals, and was the President of Fort Lauderdale Executives Association. Chip graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor of Science in engineering management.
Jim and Karol have been married for 37 years and have three children and seven grandchildren. They are active members on the board of Relate Well Live Well where they serve to see God’s design of marriage and family realized in our churches and communities. They are also part of a dynamic and energetic team that serves to support marriage and family at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church.
Karol has enjoyed working in education for over twenty years, most recently with the REAL
Essentials program for Relate Well Live Well South Florida to reach middle and high school students in
Broward County with social emotional wellness and healthy relationship education.
Jim has been in the technology and software industry for more than 30 years. Citrix Systems
headquartered here in Fort Lauderdale brought Jim, Karol and their family to South Florida
from the Midwest in the late 90’s. Jim has been involved and held leadership positions with
First Priority of South Florida, Bible Study Fellowship, Relate Well Live Well and Coral Ridge Men’s
ministries.
Kevin completed his undergraduate studies at Central Michigan University and earned a Masters in Marriage and Family Counseling at Nova Southeastern University. He then completed a post-graduate counseling program through Focus on the Family in 1991. He worked as a marriage and family counselor at Sheridan House Family Ministries from 1994-2006. When their children began school, he transitioned to teaching at Calvary Christian Academy teaching AP psychology and sociology since 2006. Kevin enjoys restoring his 1966 Mustang and golfing.
Debbie completed her undergraduate studies at Auburn University and her Juris Doctor at Cumberland School of Law. She served as the President and CEO of Groeneveld Enterprises since 1995. She served on the board of Sheridan House Family Ministries from 1995-1998 and as Chairwoman in 1998 and completed Lifework Leadership in 2017. Over the years, she has been involved with many community organizations including The Junior League and Charity Guild. She serves as an ambassador for the Freedom Challenge and has enjoyed climbing mountains to raise money for victims of human trafficking. Debbie is enjoying LTLSF as she and Kevin serve marriages and families. Together they have three grown daughters and reside in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
A lifelong resident of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, has been appointed to the LeMieux Center for Public Policy Advisory Board. Marjorie is president of a clothing company in Fort Lauderdale and has celebrated 30 years in business. She also worked in the airline industry for 14 years. She attended what is now called Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts. Marjorie is president of the Lou Church Educational Foundation, past president of the Women’s Center for Breast Health and a volunteer for Holy Cross Women’s Center for breast cancer. For many years she has led a Bible study in Fort Lauderdale. She also enjoys tennis and won many tournaments in the past.
